Fifth graders at Commack Road Elementary School and Maud S. Sherwood Elementary School attended a terrific Nov. 16 daytime performance of “Elf the Musical” at Islip Middle School, directed and choreographed by Jessy Gill and Sheila Montuori. The superb cast featured IMS students from sixth through eighth grade.

“Students learned about musicals in their general music classes and got the chance to see a live performance in the school they would be attending next year,” Fine and Performing Arts Director Michael Hershkowitz said. “Theater is a fantastic way to improve self-confidence and meet lifelong friends who share the same passion for performance.”
