Confirming their commitment to participate in collegiate athletics this fall, four Islip High School seniors signed national letters of intent on May 3. Family members and school administrators joined the student-athletes for the ceremony in the cafeteria, congratulating them on their college choices.

Students signing letters at the ceremony include Steven Nataniel, who will run track for Farmingdale State College; Anna Rahner, who is set to play softball at Farmingdale State College; Shawn Ryan, who is slated to play baseball for Mount St. Vincent College; and Ashley Toro, who will join the softball and indoor track teams at Farmingdale State College.

“Congratulations to all of you,” Athletic Director John Sparacio said. “To go on and play at the next level is a huge accomplishment in and of itself; it’s not the easiest thing to do. You’re going to go on and do great things at your colleges and make amazing lifelong memories. Value those moments, value those memories, and enjoy it. Before you know it, August will be right around the corner and you’ll be saying goodbye and starting another chapter in your life. So, I wish all of you the best of luck and am absolutely proud of each and every one of you for going on and taking the next step in your journey.”
