Four outstanding Islip High School students were chosen by Islip American Legion Rusy-Bohm Post 411 to attend the summer 2023 American Legion Boys’ State and American Legion Auxiliary Empire Girls State leadership programs. American Legion representatives recently visited the school to congratulate these young men and women, who were selected due to their demonstration of personal character and patriotism.

Connor Mullins and Charles Zimmerman were chosen as primary delegates for Boys’ State, while Emma Cirulnick and Jaci Narducci were chosen as citizens for Empire Girls State. Additionally, three students – Eagan Biscari, Elizabeth Kurka and Katalina Villalba – were selected as alternates.
