A deluge of drizzles failed to tamp down the enormous school spirit on display in Islip on Oct. 14, as the community rallied to march proudly in the annual homecoming parade, participate in fun games at an indoor carnival and cheer on their beloved football Bucs. The parade included representatives from the high school’s pep band, kickline and cheerleaders as well as students and families from Islip Middle School, Commack Road Elementary School, Maud S. Sherwood Elementary School and Wing Elementary School. The football team played tough in a loss to Shoreham-Wading River, and the day’s sense of joy and Islip pride remained throughout.
