Eighty members of Islip High School’s graduating Class of 2022 closed out their senior year by participating in a canoe and kayak trip on the Nissequogue River.

The day began with a bagel breakfast and a safety course. Upon arrival at Nissequogue, the students paddled 5.5 miles down the river, navigating the waterway while enjoying nature and demonstrating teamwork and communication. As they passed the home of high school art teacher Laura Vogelsberg, the seniors were surprised with a gigantic sign that read “Congrats IHS Class of 22.”
