Islip High School inducted 19 new members into the school’s Tri-M Music Honor Society and recognized the organization’s graduating seniors on June 7. These exceptional student-musicians must maintain a competitive grade point average in their academic classes as well as excellent grades in their music classes to qualify for induction. Members of Tri-M also assist with concerts and fundraisers throughout the school year.

“I’ve had the good fortune to have spent the past two years as the adviser for this group, and I can honestly tell you, Islip’s best and brightest are in this room this afternoon,” band teacher and Tri-M adviser Steve Campanella said during the ceremony. “Today, we will say goodbye to our seniors that have helped to build this organization, and we will also ratify the students that have gone above and beyond for the fine and performing arts department in Islip.”
