Candy Collection for a Cause

Brianne Moon With Bags of Candy She's collected From Donations thumbnail208069
While Islip community children counted and sorted their Halloween candy, Brianne Moon, a fourth grade student at Commack Road, had a different goal for the candy she collected. From Nov. 1-10, Brianne accepted community donations totaling 232 pounds of holiday treats, which she then donated to the Ronald McDonald House.

Brianne has been collecting candy for the Ronald McDonald House for the past three years. Since she cannot eat most sweets due to her allergies to peanuts, sesame and dairy, Brianne decided to ensure children dealing with major medical issues had a chance to savor holiday candy.
