Middle school students in the EXCEL program recently had the chance to improve their speaking skills and discuss finding future careers with motivational speaker and Strategy of Success founder Brian Cohen as part of the ongoing “Inventing Self” series of inspirational guest lectures.

Cohen, who partnered with Communication Strategy Group to form the Long Island Speakers Bureau, a company that provides professional presenters, also does everything from stand-up comedy and radio hosting to communication coaching and singing with an orchestra.

He told the students, “If you love what you do, from a career standpoint, you never have to go to work, because you’re always doing what you want to do, which sounds nice, but how do you make that truly work?”

Cohen asked them if any of them knew what they wanted to do for a future career and discussed the law of attraction.

“You will attract things that are appropriate to what you whatever your goal is,” he said. “It’s a concept, a theory more than a law, but it really works.”
