High school senior Tyler Nakken, an independent study student working for the second consecutive year with technology teacher Jesse Eilbeck, recently completed several outstanding woodworking projects, including a segmented bowl made from black walnut and poplar wood that he buffed to a high shine using food-safe finish, and a traditional tea candle stand with a red oak base and tiers constructed from sapele mahogany and black walnut.
“Tyler is a focused youth in my shop classes, always striving to produce quality work,” said Eilbeck.
Nakken plans to join the military after graduation this June.
