Collaborating with high school students from Bayport and Sayville, members of the Islip High School Junior Chamber of Commerce and KIC clubs coordinated a Teens for Jeans campaign. Sponsored locally by the South Shore Community Organization, the Islip students donated 533 pairs of jeans to the South Shore Mall’s Aéropostale for dosomething.org’s nationwide fundraiser. The donated jeans will be distributed to teens living in a local shelter.
According to Junior Chamber advisory Renée Clock, “This fundraiser teaches our students to be leaders in their community and provides kids who are their own age and less fortunate than they are with their number-one requested item - jeans. It really is teens helping teens.”
