The district’s rigorous music program has again been rewarded by the NAMM Foundation, which honored Islip with a Best Communities for Music Education designation for 2016. Islip was one of only 476 districts across the nation to receive this annual award – now in its 17th year – for exemplary commitment to music education.

“Islip has a long history of student-musicians going on to be professional musicians and educators,” said Vincent Green, director of fine and performing arts. “We’ve always known Islip to be one of the Best Communities for Music Education, and we are proud to share this designation with the supporters who make it possible.”
