World Language Honor Society students from Islip High School hosted seventh-grade Spanish and Italian students for a variety of activities and games to enrich the latter’s language proficiency skills during Islip Middle School’s annual World Language Immersion Day on March 11. During this event, the high schoolers speak only Spanish or Italian for the entire day, immersing the younger students in their language of study. This allows the seventh graders to gain fluency by hearing the language being spoken and modeled and provides them the opportunity to practice their vocabulary words.
