High school video production students Chaiti Paul and Stephania Teran were named the Long Island Area winners of The Greatest Save Teen PSA Contest, sponsored by KinderVision/The Greatest Save and Major League Baseball, for their anti-vaping video “It Won’t Happen to Me.” Paul and Teran’s winning public service announcement will now advance to the national competition as one of just 10 National Finalists.

Islip had entered the PSA Contest last year for the first time, winning the Long Island Region and earning a spot as a top 20 National Finalist. 

“I am delighted and proud of our students for winning back-to-back years, not an easy thing to do,” said their teacher, Mike Reilly. “The video was filmed, edited, scripted and produced with pride and talent. This Teen Awareness project is for the kids, supported by the kids and meaningful to the kids. It raises awareness while offering an educational experience that includes reading, writing, researching, fact-checking, and the use and mastery of technology and software.”
