The "distance learning" project "Poetry in Isolation" was created by Sara Armano and John Jimenez for their 11th-grade English/ENL classes in response to the English Department's National Poetry Month celebration in April. Using the writing prompt "What a Difference a Month Makes," students were asked to reflect and consider how their lives have changed during the pandemic, and how they might continue to change in the months ahead. The resulting beautifully crafted poems give us a glimpse into the emotions that many of our students are experiencing.
