Eager theater students at the high school have been hard at work preparing for this year’s exciting but challenging school musical, a bravura production of Catherine Johnson’s ABBA-centric show “Mamma Mia!” Directed by Dr. Rich Harris, Jr., it features more than a dozen of the Swedish pop act’s most beloved songs.

The cast includes Tyler Cirulnick and Noelle Richard as Donna, Marisa Esposito and Toni Castronova as Sophie, Mercedes Rocha and Samantha Salerno as Tanya, Grace Colwell and Bella Green as Rosie Joseph Leo as Sam, Ryan DelGenio as Bill, Nick D’Auria as Harry, Richie Castronova and Brandon Larson as Sky and Eddie, Frank Neri as Pepper, Rachel Nettuno and Rebecca Seara as Lisa, Lotus Schuller and Katy Zurbaran as Ali, and Ryan Van Nostrand and Brad Price as Father Alexandrios.

Performances will take place at the school’s auditorium on Nov. 21 and 22 and 7 p.m., and on Nov. 23 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

“It has been a joy observing the progress students are making in preparing this difficult show,” said Dr. Jeff S. Dailey, Islip’s interim director of fine and performing arts. “Their dedication, and that of their director, Dr. Harris, is apparent. I hope that all in the Islip community will take advantage of the opportunity to see this phenomenal production.”
