James McCabe has been named science coordinator for the district.
McCabe previously served as director of middle school life and elementary science at the East Williston School District, as dean of students and seventh-grade science teacher at East Williston, and as a general science teacher in the Colonial School District in Delaware.
The West Islip resident earned a bachelor’s degree in adolescence education in biology from SUNY Cortland and his master’s degree in school leadership from Wilmington University in Delaware.
“I am honored to join the Islip school community as science coordinator, and look forward to supporting our students learn through collaboration and discovery,” said McCabe.
