Islip High School and The Office of Fine and Performing Arts are pleased to announce that the Islip High School SWING Choir received a Superior rating at the Music in the Parks Festival held the weekend of May 12 at Six Flags Great Adventure. SWING received nearly perfect scores, placing first in the Jazz/Swing choir division. Additionally, the group was awarded the Best Overall Choir award, leading mixed, women’s and madrigal choirs from 11 other schools throughout the Northeast.

SWING member Jeremiah Kissane was named Outstanding Vocal Soloist, Michael Boyd received recognition as Outstanding Guitar Soloist, and Michael Massaro was named Outstanding Saxophone Soloist.
