Superstorm Sandy and snowstorm Nemo may have pushed back their celebration by a few days, but that did not stop the students at Islip’s Commack Road Elementary School from recognizing the 100th day of school on Feb. 22. In preparation for the day, the students completed projects incorporating100 objects. Their creations ranged from forming a snowman out of 100 cotton balls to spelling out “CRES 100” with 100 puzzle pieces. Throughout the 100th day, the students participated in various English, math and art lessons centered on the number 100.
