Bus safety is a main priority of the district. In making sure that students make a secure journey from home to the classroom, all kindergarten students received mandated bus safety training at the start of the school year.

After each class loaded a bus, Suffolk Transportation Services drivers discussed the rules of riding and disembarking. Driver Marcia Thompson explained that bus safety begins at the bus stop where students should remain alert and at a safe distance from the road. The students also learned that they must always wear a mask, should respect peers and should sit until it is their time to unload.
