Sixth-graders in Cristina Guida’s and Laura Rondinella’s science classes at Islip Middle School were chosen to be “Kidcasters” for April 12 on radio station WBLI. The students were given the chance to forecast the weather for April 13 and each of the five classes was given a section of the weather broadcast to read.
“We just finished our unit on weather and thought this would be a great activity to show off what we learned,” Rondinella said. “The kids had a great time listening to themselves on the radio as well as seeing their final project. I hope everyone enjoys listening and seeing what our future can do. We may have some future meteorologists on our hands!”
