Islip High School student PSA chosen for national contest thumbnail178556

Anti-vaping public service announcement “It Won’t Happen to Me,” created by Islip High School video production students Chaiti Paul and Stephania Teran, was selected as a National Finalist in The Greatest Save Teen PSA Contest, sponsored by KinderVision/The Greatest Save and Major League Baseball. Paul and Teran’s video won the Long Island Region during the last school year.

“Their PSA is being used in schools around the country to help teens learn about issues such as vaping,” said their teacher, Mike Reilly.  “We take great pride in our fully produced, filmed, scripted, and edited projects in our video production class and it is obviously noticeable to many around the country as we have won or placed in several national competitions. With New York being the media capital of the world, and with continuous growth in the media field, our students are certainly having an opportunity to explore these avenues.”
