Performing
arts students from the high school and middle school journeyed to
Barnes & Noble in Bay Shore on March 2 as part of the school
district’s celebration at the store. The chamber orchestras of both
schools performed music under the direction of Zachary Butterfield. Cast
members from the middle school’s musical, “Frozen, Jr.,” sang songs
from their recent production of that play. Their performance, directed
by Allison Jeanes, complemented a store display of books and other items
devoted to “Frozen.” The middle schoolers also performed a
dramatization of the children’s picture book “The Day the Crayons Quit.”
“Our students were happy to share their musical and dramatic
talents in this celebration of literacy,” said Dr. Jeff S. Dailey, the
district’s interim director of fine and performing arts.
