Ice skater Emily Capps, a student at the middle school, participated in the 40th annual Empire State Winter Games, held from Jan. 30 to Feb. 2 at Lake Placid. As a solo performer, Capps finished in fourth place. Skating as a synchronized group, her team won the gold medal.
