The high school hosted a new and improved version of Curriculum Night on Feb. 6, redubbed the Curriculum Course Tour.
The event began in the high school auditorium, where incoming eighth grade students and their families were provided with an in-depth overview of the courses available at the high school. Also discussed were graduation requirements, the Buccaneer University mentoring program, Advanced Placement courses, BOCES Technical Centers, and the school’s Career Academy, cosmetology, arts, technology and special education programs. Incoming students were encouraged to get involved in such activities as clubs, honor societies, community service, the school’s bands and musicals, and student government and other leadership roles.
Meanwhile, in the cafeteria, students and families were able to speak with coordinators and guidance counselors about course offerings. Current high schoolers were welcome to attend the Curriculum Course Tour, and many of them helped to staff informational booths throughout the cafeteria.
