Frank Vaughn has been appointed as the district’s new science and technology coordinator, replacing James McCabe.

Vaughn had worked as a science teacher in the district for over 20 years, most recently at Islip High School. He taught a broad range of classes from middle school science to AP and college courses at the high school. A Holtsville resident, he earned his bachelor’s degree, master’s degree and post-master’s degree advanced graduate certificate from Stony Brook University.

“In this position, the goal is to increase opportunities for students interested in science, technology, engineering and mathematics to prepare them for careers in these rapidly advancing fields,” Vaughn said.
