High school freshman Alex Romeo has been selected for the Suffolk County Music Educators Association’s Day of Percussion ensemble. Romeo, a percussionist and school wind ensemble member who studies under teacher Steve Campanella, is the first Islip student to ever be chosen for this honor. The annual Day of Percussion festival will take place this year on Jan. 10 at Mount Sinai High School.
