Jazz and RockOn Wednesday, January 14, Islip High School’s auditorium came alive with an energetic and diverse musical celebration as students took the stage for the annual Jazz and Rock Showcase Concert. The event, presented by the Islip Union Free School District, offered a free evening of live music highlighting the creativity and dedication of young performers from across the district.

The showcase featured performances by the Islip Middle School Jazz Band, the IHS Electric Ensemble, and the IHS Jazz Band, giving audiences a rich mix of jazz improvisations and rock-inspired electric sets. Families, friends, and community members packed the auditorium to support the student musicians, cheering on solos and ensemble pieces alike.

In addition to the musical performances, the event included complimentary coffee from Bucs Brew in the lobby, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere for attendees. With no admission charge and no tickets required, the concert was designed to be an inclusive celebration of student artistry and community engagement.
