Islip High School Class of 2014 alumna Kylie Ohlmiller, a member of the 2022 U.S. women’s national lacrosse team, will play with the national team in a public exhibition game against Athletes Unlimited on Wednesday, June 8 at 7:30 p.m. at Stony Brook University’s Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium.

The game will conclude a three-day training camp for the reigning champion U.S. women’s national team, who are preparing to defend their title against 29 other nations at the 2022 World Lacrosse Women’s Championship. This tournament will be held in the U.S. for the first time since 2005. Ohlmiller is one of just three Long Island athletes on the 18-player U.S. roster.

One of Islip’s most celebrated athletes of all time, Ohlmiller’s high school accolades included being named a U.S. Lacrosse All-American and two-time Academic All-American. After missing her freshman year of high school with an injury, she served as team captain during her sophomore, junior and senior years, amassing 247 goals and 98 assists in those three seasons. She also played volleyball and basketball in high school. Islip retired her No. 17 jersey in 2019.

During her four-year college career playing attack for Stony Brook University, she was named team captain, America East Player of the Year and a Tewaaraton Finalist twice; an All-American four times; a 2018 America East Women of the Year winner; and set the NCAA record for career points with 498 and career assists with 246. She went on to play professionally and was the No. 1 overall draft pick for both the Women’s Professional Lacrosse League’s New York Fight team and the United Women's Lacrosse League’s Boston Storm.

Ohlmiller has been a member of the U.S. women's national lacrosse team since 2017. She has been called "the face of women’s lacrosse" by the New York Times and "a human highlight reel" by ESPN, and earned sponsorships from both Brine and New Balance. Ohlmiller is also the founder of KO17 Lacrosse, a lacrosse training organization which hosts camps, clinics and online instruction.
