Sherwood Elementary Honors Patriot Day
Sherwood Elementary School came together for a meaningful schoolwide ceremony to honor Patriot Day and remember the events of September 11, 2001. The gathering emphasized the enduring importance of remembrance, unity and kindness.
Fourth-grade students led the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by a beautiful violin performance of “America the Beautiful” by Ms. Markee.
Several fifth-grade students then presented a special Chain of Kindness, reflecting on the significance of September 11 and reminding their classmates to choose kindness, compassion and care for others each day.
“Our efforts to educate our students will ensure that the motto ‘Never Forget’ is carried into the next generation, and that they will hopefully learn to lead with kindness,” Interim Principal Mrs. Kerry Vann said.
Through this moving tribute, the Sherwood Elementary School community honored the past while encouraging students to carry a message of hope, kindness and compassion into the future. 🇺🇸
