Posted Date: 06/22/26 (01:53 PM)

Lax honorsThe accolades continue to roll in for the Islip High School girls lacrosse program following another successful season, as several Buccaneers were recognized among Suffolk County’s top players for their performances in 2026.

Leading the way were seniors Caitlin Barnes and Abigail Dieumegard, who were both named USA Lacrosse All-Americans, one of the highest honors awarded to high school lacrosse players nationwide.

Barnes, a dynamic midfielder committed to play at Boston College, finished among Suffolk County’s leading scorers with 67 goals and 78 points.

Dieumegard, a Virginia Tech-bound goalkeeper, led Suffolk County with 160 saves and was widely regarded as one of Long Island’s premier netminders.

Barnes and Dieumegard also earned All-County recognition alongside teammates Tessa Smith and Reese Wallace, giving Islip four players among Suffolk County’s elite. Smith was a key contributor in the midfield throughout the season, while Wallace anchored the Buccaneers defensively and helped lead one of the county’s most competitive squads.

In addition, Taylor Riesing and Olivia Pue were selected as All-Division. Both seniors played pivotal roles in Islip’s offensive success, with Pue ranking among Suffolk County’s assist leaders and Riesing serving as one of the team’s top playmakers.
