The Islip Board of Education will hold a special meeting in the Islip High School auditorium on Friday, May 29, 2026. The meeting will open at 4:00 p.m., and it is anticipated the Board will immediately convene into an executive session for the purpose of discussing the employment history of a particular person or persons and seeking advice from legal counsel.

A public session will follow in the HS auditorium at approximately 6:00 p.m. This session will feature a presentation detailing several budget options for the Board of Education to consider putting forward to the community for the budget re-vote on Tuesday, June 16, 2026. Following a review and discussion of these proposals, including consideration of input, feedback, and questions from members of the public in attendance, the Board will decide and vote on the final budget proposal.

The agenda for this meeting will be available to the public through BoardDocs on the District website. Paper copies of the agenda in English, Spanish, Pashto, and Urdu will be available at the check-in table in the lobby. In-person attendees will also have the option to borrow a device that will translate the proceedings into multiple languages in real-time.

The public session will also be live streamed via the Board's YouTube channel. Please note, those viewing the live stream will not have the ability to participate in the public discussion in real time.
