Islip Students Spread Message of Inclusion Through “Chalk and Talk” Event

More than 60 students came together for Islip High School’s “Chalk and Talk” after-school event, transforming campus sidewalks into vibrant displays of positivity, creativity, and inclusion.
Students worked collaboratively to design colorful messages and artwork that promoted acceptance and unity, turning everyday walkways into a powerful visual reminder of the importance of choosing inclusion. The event also sparked meaningful conversations among participants, reinforcing the value of empathy and understanding within the school community.
By the following morning, the initiative's impact was clear. Students and staff entering the building were greeted by the uplifting messages, setting a positive tone for the day and encouraging reflection on how small actions can make a big difference.
