Business Students Gain Real-World Insight During MetLife Stadium and Big SNOW Industry Experience
Students from Mrs. Riche’s business classes at Islip High School stepped outside the classroom and into the world of sports and entertainment operations during an exciting field trip to MetLife Stadium and Big SNOW at the American Dream Mall.
The day began with a behind-the-scenes tour of MetLife Stadium, home to the New York Giants and New York Jets, where students explored how one of the country's largest and busiest venues operates. They learned about event management, marketing strategies, stadium logistics, and the extensive coordination required to host professional sporting events and major entertainment productions.
Students then visited Big SNOW, North America’s first indoor, real-snow ski and snowboard center. There, they observed how the attraction manages daily operations, safety protocols, staffing, guest services, and promotional efforts that keep the venue running year-round.
Throughout the trip, students made meaningful connections between academic concepts and real-world applications, gaining valuable exposure to potential careers in sports management, business operations, marketing, and hospitality.
This hands-on learning experience offered a powerful reminder of how classroom lessons translate into dynamic professional opportunities.
