Students in Islip High School’s cosmetology program recently put their creativity to the test with a special Halloween-themed project known as the “Anything But Hair” Challenge. 

The assignment encouraged students to think outside the box, decorating mannequin heads with materials other than hair to create imaginative, spooky, and seasonal designs.

The results were nothing short of impressive. Each student’s creation displayed a unique blend of artistry, technical skill, and attention to detail — from eerie Halloween motifs to intricate, colorful concepts that highlighted both creativity and craftsmanship.

The cosmetology program at Islip High School continues to provide tremendous opportunities for students to explore their interests, develop professional skills, and prepare for successful futures in the beauty and wellness industry.
