Image of a circular logo of the Islip School District. From the outside in, this logo consists of:
- a thin gold ciruclar line, with a slightly thicker white line separating it from an even thicker purple circle.
-embedded in this purple circle, in gold font are the words "Leadership, Tradition, Excellence" (left to right) with ISLIP at the bottom of the circle. Each word is separated by a gold 'dot'
- Inside this is another think white circle, and two gold circles framing a thicker white circle which contains eight gold stars spaced evenly around the circle
- The inner most circle is a large solid purple circle containing an open book in gold; nestled within the spine of the book is a torch with a purple 'I" in its handle. Below the book/torch, three gold stars are centered, and a laurel wreath curves from below the stars along the sides of the book. The words (in gold font) "Enter to learn, go forth to serve" curve around the top of the purple circle above the flame of the torch, and EST. 1964 is centered at the bottom of the purple circle.
Dear Islip Families:

In the Islip School District the safety, security, and well-being of our students, faculty, and staff are always our top priorities. We routinely review our safety  protocols and assess the strength of our security measures.

As part of our constant improvement efforts, we are inviting parents of Islip students to a Safety and Security Forum on Wednesday, November 19, 2025. The purpose of this forum is to share certain aspects of our safety and security protocols, discuss the mental health supports we offer in our District, and give each of you a chance to share your feelings about school safety and security in a small group setting.

This forum will begin promptly at 6:30 p.m. in the Islip Middle School auditorium. We hope to see as many of you as possible so we can incorporate your thoughts and insights into future plans.

If you would like to participate in this forum, you must register in advance by providing your information through this link. All responses for participation are due by Friday, October 31, 2025.

Sincerely,
Signature of Islip Public Schools Superintendent Dennis P. O'HaraDennis P. O'Hara, Ed.D.
