At a June 13 ceremony in the school’s library, surrounded by proud family members, senior Joseph Kornahrens signed a letter of intent to play football at Alvernia University in Reading, Pennsylvania this fall. He plans to major in physical therapy while competing for the Golden Wolves. A multitalented athlete, Kornahrens was a starting lineman for the varsity Bucs football team in his junior and senior years as well as a five-year member of Islip’s varsity bowling team and a two-year member of the varsity tennis squad.
