Students at Wing enjoyed whipping up a peach quinoa cake with beet frosting in February at the new “Healthy Cooking with Ms. Arlene” program, a monthly culinary session with chef Arlene Leggio. It was the first time that all students at Wing had the opportunity to make something together as a school.

“Arlene continues to find ways for children to eat healthy foods through her delicious creations,” said Principal Michael Giacchetto. “The cake was just another way to get our children excited over a healthy dessert. It is always important for students to have opportunities like this to be creative, especially when they are using materials they don’t often interact with like jicama or beet juice.  It was great to see how she was able to bring what she loves to do every day to all the students at Wing.”
