High school seniors Vincent Capolongo and Kayla Multer were named winners at the 2017-2018 Suffolk Zone Awards dinner, held on Dec. 6 at the Hyatt Regency Long Island in Hauppauge.

The Suffolk Zone awards are presented annually by the Suffolk Zone Chapter of the New York State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance to the top male and female physical education students in each Suffolk County high school’s graduating class.

Capolongo, who serves as captain of the soccer, winter track and spring track teams, is an All-Conference soccer winner and participates in Athletes Helping Athletes. He plans to attend Stony Brook University and major in mechanical engineering

Multer, Islip’s soccer team captain, basketball team member and is an All-County soccer recipient and participates in Mathletes. She plans to attend New York Institute of Technology and major in biology.

“Kayla and Vincent serve as true physical fitness role models and examples for success,” said Athletic Director John Sparacio.
