Close to 100 student actors from the high school staged five powerful performances of “The Wiz” this March. A modernized version of “The Wizard of Oz,” the musical was last presented in Islip in 2005. Approximately 1,500 people attended this year’s production, held at Islip High School’s state-of-the-art auditorium.

New this year was a daytime performance of excerpts from the show, performed for Wing students and staff, who stopped by for a preview and an invitation to come back and see the full show when it opened.
