An overall total of 200 Islip High School students were inducted into the school’s National Honor Society, English Honor Society, Math Honor Society and World Language Honor Society during a May 11 ceremony in the auditorium.

“Congratulations on this outstanding accomplishment,” Principal Jon LaRochester told the inductees. “The fact that you are here today is a testament to the commitment, dedication and service that you’ve put into your academics.”

“I would like to acknowledge the incredible efforts you have all put forth to be here,” said Dr. Christopher Smalley, the district’s assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction who served as the event’s keynote speaker. “You all deserve the privilege of being inducted into the various honor societies.”
