In honor of Earth Day, students in Natalie DeSena’s family and consumer science classes at the middle school collaborated to upcycle T-shirts donated by faculty into dog rope toys for the Islip Animal Shelter. Students worked in teams to create over 60 canine toys, enjoying learning a new skill while simultaneously giving back to the community.
