Junior Chamber of Commerce Club Honors Vets with Flags and Donation

HS VETS thumbnail177988

In honor of Veterans Day, the high school's Junior Chamber of Commerce Club placed American flags in the ground outside the school’s main entrance.

In preparation for the event, the students had asked for $5 donations for messages for veterans, which were then laminated and affixed to each flag. The funds were then collected for donation to the Islip American Legion Rusy-Bohm Post 411. Additionally, art classes guided by teacher Jenna DeBobes used sidewalk chalk to decorate the school’s front sidewalks with patriotic artwork.

On Nov. 10, the club students and teacher Renee Clock gathered at the site to present guest members of the American Legion with the donation check.
