THIS WE BELIEVE...BECOMING A SCHOOL DISTRICT OF QUALITY

About the Islip School District's Long-Range Planning Initiative...

During the summer of 2006, the Islip Board of Education and central office administation reviewed and further developed a school improvement protocol which was originally constructed by the Board and central office administration of the Webster Central School District, located in Webster, NY, a suburb of East Rochester. Since that time, Islip's efforts have focused on customizing the original Webster Central documents to be adapted for use here in the Islip School District.

This intensive work has resulted in the development of a blueprint for a rubric that will become the cornerstone of Islip's long-range planning initiative. Embedded in the belief that good schools can become great schools, the Islip School District has embarked on a journey of becoming a quality school district. With this in mind, you may access both documents by clicking on the links below.

While there is still much more work to be done, we believe that our efforts to date, which have resulted in this structure for improvement, will benefit the Islip School District and the students we serve for many years to come.
