Long Island author and poet Darren Sardelli recently visited Sherwood, reading several of his poems and speaking to the students about how he became a writer.

Inspired by Shel Silverstein and Dr. Seuss, Sardelli’s humorous work includes the popular 2009 children’s poetry collection “Galaxy Pizza and Meteor Pie (And Other School Poems That Are Out of This World!)”.
