Commack Road held a Diversity Celebration on the evening of Feb. 16, sharing and celebrating Black History Month as well as the many cultures that make the school’s students unique.
Fifth-graders researched a country from their background or nationality, sharing their reports and posters in front of family and friends in the school gym. The students and attendees then enjoyed a taste of different foods from various countries in the CRES cafeteria.
“The goal of this evening was for the students to recognize and appreciate the cultural diversity of their classmates and peers as we spread love and acceptance here at Commack Road,” said Principal Brian McCarthy. “They put so much hard work and effort into their country reports.”
