The Islip Drug Education Awareness (IDEA) Task Force and Wellness Club hosted its annual Health Fair for students at Islip High School. “The objective of the Health Fair is to provide and promote services and resources that will enhance the lives and health of our students,” stated Islip High School Social Worker specializing in substance abuse Carin Winter, who helped organize the event.

During the one-day event, the following local businesses provided information to the high school students: Great South Bay YMCA, Daytop, South Shore Community Organization, Islip Hotline and Access, The Elks Club, Outreach House, Beehive Salon, VMA, Brightbay Physical Therapy, Healing Waters, BOCES Tobacco Cessation Program, Vitamin Supreme Smoothie Shop, Response Crisis Hotline, LICAAD, Shaolin Self-Defense, Flexx Appeal Pilates, FEGS, The Lupus Foundation, Empire State Lyme Disease Association, and LI Head Injury Association.
