Teens for Jeans

Students in the Islip High School Junior Chamber of Commerce Club coordinated a Teens for Jeans campaign with the assistance of the Islip High School KIC Club and the South Shore Community Organization’s Leadership in the Community program. Together, they joined DOsomething.org to collect 295 pairs of jeans, which will be distributed to local homeless shelters through local Aéropostale stores and the DOsomething.org organization.
“The main goal of the Junior Chamber of Commerce Club is to teach teens to take up leadership roles and be active in their community,” remarked club advisor Renée Clock.
To thank the students for their initiative in collecting the jeans and leading a successful campaign, Town of Islip Supervisor Tom Croci and Suffolk County Legislator Tom Cilmi visited with the teens and briefly discussed the importance of community involvement.
