Three Islip High School seniors gathered in the school’s library to publicly sign their National Letters of Intent to continue playing sports at the college level.
The three seniors – Terence Foley, Faith Laudano, and Jonathan Maher – have all decided to continue their athletic careers at Division I schools, the most competitive level of collegiate athletics in the country.
Terence will play defense on the lacrosse team at Villanova University, where he will major in pre-med. Faith’s athletic abilities are taking her to Seton Hall University, where she will be a catcher on the softball team. She plans to major in occupational therapy. The lacrosse team for Binghamton University will have the added benefit of Jonathan’s mid-field presence for the 2012-2013 season. Jonathan will major in business.
“These three student-athletes have represented Islip High School well in their years as Buccaneers,” remarked Director of Health, Physical Education, and Athletics Bob Panariello. “Their combination of athletic skill and high academic achievement is what separates them from other student-athletes. I know they will continue to represent Islip with pride as they continue their athletic careers.”
