Showcasing their knowledge and creativity, fourth-graders in Christine LeMaire’s class at Islip’s Commack Road Elementary School created biography puppet book reports. As with a typical biographical book report, the students were responsible for reading a non-fiction book and writing a book report on the person’s life. However, for Mrs. LeMaire’s class, they also created a puppet representing their chosen person and presented the puppet to the class during their oral presentation. As a special treat, the students performed a puppet show for parents. Famous lives and faces on display for the biography puppet book reports included Derek Jeter, Harry Houdini, King Tut and Elvis Presley.
