To celebrate the International Day of Peace, which is celebrated on Sept. 21, the kindergarten and first-grade students at Wing Elementary School participated in the Pinwheels for Peace Project on Sept. 20. Organized by school social worker Allison Siegel, each student was responsible for creating his or her own pinwheel of peace, which was then used to decorate a large bulletin board as a reminder to the students to make good choices and to be kind and respectful to others.

“We celebrate Pinwheels for Peace to remind us to be kind and caring, peaceful, and respectful to others in our school and our community,” said Ms. Siegel.
